Save El Monte Valley Coalition

In fall of 2018, a diverse group of San Diego residents including members of the Kumeyaay Nation, environmentalists, and parents rallied against a proposed sand mining project on one of the last remaining natural stretches  of the San Diego River, known as El Monte Valley. Concerns included risks to local aquifers, air quality, valley fever, and desecration of sacred Native American sites. CIEJ members testified at a Lakeside Community Planning Group Meeting criticizing the Environmental Impact Report and supporting the local community.  Learn more here, here, and here. San Diego Anti-Zionist Coalition

The San Diego Anti-Zionist Coalition is working on building consciousness around the influence and impact of Zionism on our political spaces, movements, and relations. As CIEJ, we are in working in joint-struggle with movements that resist the Zionist project that continues to occupy Palestinian lands/waters/skies and continues to influence borderization processes in San Diego-Tijuana.
